Childhood immunisations

Mount Alexander Shire Council provides immunisations to children based on the National Immunisation Program.  Local General Practices also offer immunisation services.

The Maternal and Child Health Service offer immunisations to children aged 0-5 by appointment.

School Immunisation Program
Council visits all schools in the Mount Alexander Shire that have secondary school classes and offers vaccinations according to the National Immunisation Program.

A consent card must be signed by a parent/guardian before any vaccine can be given.

On the day of vaccination, each vaccinated student will be given a form to take home stating what vaccines were given. This form should be kept with previous immunisation records.

What if your child misses the school immunisation session?
If your child was absent on the day of vaccinations please contact an Environmental Health Officer for advice about catch up doses.

For more information on the school immunisation program visit our immunisation page.
