The Mount Alexander Shire Council, along with several other rural Councils, has partnered with Film Victoria to provide an online locations gallery to assist film makers in the production of film projects.
The service aims to assist film makers in finding suitable locations. For example, Council provided advice and support to the production team for the feature film Romulus, My Father which was filmed in the shire.
With many film, television, advertising productions and student films regularly shot in the shire, the region is experienced in dealing with production companies of all sizes. Council's filming and photography application form provides guidelines to facilitate production without unnecessary delays.
Please refer to the application form and conditions on the last page to ensure filming applications are able to be processed as soon as possible. Please submit your application via email to info@mountalexander.vic.gov.au.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss filming in any of our towns, buildings or locations, please call 03 5471 1700 or email info@mountalexander.vic.gov.au. Council will respond within five days of an enquiry.
