Due to recent rain, Council has temporarily closed the south end of Langslow Street in McKenzie Hill to protect public safety while the road is under reconstruction.

While the works are progressing well, rains have affected an unsealed part of the road, located on a steep slope.

The section of road, south of Castlemaine RSPCA Animal Care Centre and before the Sluicer Street junction, is expected to be closed until Wednesday 26 April pending weather conditions.

Traffic can still access nearby businesses via the northern section of Langslow Street, off Elizabeth Street (Pyrenees Highway). The Castlemaine Waste Facility remains accessible via Martin Street.

Langslow Street is currently undergoing reconstruction works and a minor realignment to improve road safety.

The upgrade is funded through the Federal Government Roads to Recovery program and is expected to be completed in June. Council apologises for the inconvenience.
