Drinking water may be obtained from standpipes operated in Mount Alexander Shire. Council operates standpipes in Newstead, Taradale and Maldon. A standpipe located at Barkers Creek Reservoir is managed by Coliban Water.

Individuals accessing water from standpipes must have a water carter permit issued by Coliban Water.

How to apply for an electronic key and Avdata account

Council has upgraded the standpipes in Newstead and Taradale to a computerised operating system.*

The system is operated by an Avdata electronic key. Users with a water carter permit can apply for an electronic key by completing an application form. A one-off fee of $33.00 is required. Account holders are billed monthly for water usage.

To apply for an electronic standpipe key and Avdata account, complete an application form and return to Council.
