How to apply for an electronic key and Avdata account

The standpipes in Newstead and Taradale have a computerised system operated by an Avdata electronic key. Users with a water carter permit can apply for an electronic key and Avdata account.

To receive an electronic key visit the Mount Alexander Shire Council Civic Centre in Castlemaine with the following documents.

All applications are forwarded to Avdata to create an account and water usage is billed monthly.

Have an Avdata account and electronic key and want to use our standpipes?

You need to complete and submit an application (with your existing key number), and present your water carters licence and drivers licence. The $33 payment for an electronic key will be waivered unless you require immediate access, in which case you also need to purchase an electronic key from us.

Please be aware that it may take up to 5 business days until your existing key is registered to be used on our standpipes.
