Business funding information session a success

Business information session

Monday 12 February 2018

Businesses from across the region attended an information session on how to tap in government funding last week.

The information expo-style event was hugely popular with tickets for the free event booking out the week before.

“We had a diverse range of businesses attend the session to gain valuable insights into government funding opportunities, eligibility criteria and how to make a winning application,” said Eva Parkin, Economic Development Officer, Mount Alexander Shire Council.

“State and federal government program managers hosted small table discussions, answered questions and gave guidance to businesses about their specific projects.

“It was also really valuable to have Holy Goat Cheese co-founder Carla Meurs, as a recipient of a Food Source Victoria grant, to field questions from participants on how to navigate the funding landscape.

“Initial feedback from participants and program managers has been excellent and we are planning to hold another information session about new funding opportunities later in the year,” said Ms Parkin.

Mount Alexander Shire Council hosted the information session to help support local businesses and economic growth in the region.
