Saint Street drainage works underway

Drain pipes ready to be installed along Greenhill Avenue in Castlemaine

Drainage works are underway in the Saint Street area to reduce the risk of stormwater flooding in the neighbourhood.

Thursday 12 July 2018

Drainage works have started in the Saint Street area in Castlemaine to reduce the risk of stormwater flooding and help protect homes in the neighbourhood.

The works are part of a three-stage program to improve drainage in the area. They include a new drainage outfall at Forest Creek and the installation of drainage pipes in Greenhill Avenue and Saint Street.

During the works, the residential streets between Barker and Wheeler streets will be open to local traffic only.

The entry will be closed at the Barker Street end. Other traffic can take the route via Forest Street.

Local residents have been informed about the works and will have access to their properties at all times.

The first stage of works are expected to be completed by the end of September, pending weather conditions.
