Monday 26 June 2017

Judging for the Mount Alexander Business Awards will start soon with a strong panel of experts ready to start reviewing a record number of entries.

Mount Alexander Shire Council and program partners, Maldon & District Community Bank® and The Midland Express/Castlemaine Mail, are pleased to announce the members of the independent judging panel.

The judges are:

• Lisa Rundell, Founder and Director, Lost Trades Fair and Tomahawk Marketing + PR
• Jason and Belinda Hagan, Founders and Directors, McIvor Farm Foods
• Frances MacDonald, Senior Investment and Trade Officer, Regional Development Victoria
• Paul Goudie, Development Officer, Regional Development Victoria

“The number and quality of submissions has been excellent and we are now pleased to announce the experts on our judging panel,” said David Leathem, Manager, Economy and Culture, Mount Alexander Shire Council.

“Our panel bring strong expertise and business acumen from a variety of fields, and are committed to ensuring a strong and robust judging process,” he said.

The judges will start with a review of entries in each category to develop a shortlist of the most outstanding businesses in the six award categories.

Arrangements will then be made for the judges to visit the workplace of shortlisted businesses in July to build on the detail in the award entry.

The finalists and winners in each category will be revealed at a gala event on Thursday 17 August so make sure you save the date in your diary.

Category winners will also be in the running for the coveted Business of the Year award and $2,000 prize money.

The awards are supported by Business Mount Alexander, Maldon Inc., Regional Development Victoria and Workspace Australia as individual award sponsors.

Tickets to the awards evening will be available via Eventbrite soon.
