Plan to install solar on Market Building

Council advises it has made an application under Section 67 of the Heritage Act 1995 for the installation of a solar photovoltaic system at the Market Building, 44 Mostyn Street, Castlemaine. A copy of the application (P26656) is available at www.heritage.vic.gov.au. Anyone may lodge a written submission regarding the application to heritage.permits@delwp.vic.gov.au or via post to Heritage Victoria, PO Box 500, Melbourne VIC 8002. Submissions are due by Tuesday 11 July. In accordance with the Heritage Act, a public notice was advertised in the Midland Express on 27 June 2017.

Digital strategy workshop for businesses

Come along to the next small business workshop, Advanced Digital Strategies for Your Business. Led by Loren Bartley digital expert, social media strategist, trainer and coach, the session will simplify the digital world. It will help you to develop a framework to strategically grow your business online.

NAIDOC Week

This week is NAIDOC Week, which aims to increase awareness in the community about the status and treatment of Indigenous Australians. Council recognises this important week and encourages all Australians to participate in the celebrations and activities that take place. Planned events are listed at www.naidoc.org.au including a family tree planting day in Bendigo.

Help shape the future of our region

The Loddon Campaspe Regional Partnership invites the community to help influence Victorian Government decisions for the benefit of our region. Share your views on topics such as creating the best start for our children, being connected, promoting better health, protecting the natural environment, growing the economy and renewable energy. A regional workshop will be held in Castlemaine on Thursday 20 July, before a regional assembly in Bendigo on 17 August. How to be a rockstar

Young kids can learn how to be rockstars these school holidays with multi-award-winning comedian Tessa Waters. The 55 minute high-energy show targets children aged three to eight years. How to be a Rockstar will be held from 2.00pm on Thursday 13 July at the Phee Broadway Theatre, Mechanics Lane, Castlemaine. Tickets are $10. Entry is free to children aged two years and under. Purchase tickets at the door prior to the show, at the Castlemaine Visitor Information Centre in the Market Building in Mostyn Street, online at www.pheebroadwaytheatre.com.au or over the phone on 5471 1795.
