Submit an EOI for Seniors Festival

If you have an idea or event for Seniors Festival in October, be sure to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for funding. Council has five grants of up to $200 for key festival events held in the shire. Event guidelines and EOI forms are available from the Civic Centre in Castlemaine and on the What’s on section of Council’s website. For more information call the Community Wellbeing team on 5471 1839.

Expressions of Interest must be received by 5.00pm, Friday 4 August.

Book tickets for business awards

Book your ticket now for the Mount Alexander Business Awards gala event. The awards ceremony will kick off with drinks at 5.30pm on Wednesday 16 August at the Castlemaine Art Museum. Tickets are $35. To book visit www.mountalexanderbusinessawards.com.au.

Help shape the future of our region

The Loddon Campaspe Regional Partnership invites the community to help influence Victorian Government decisions for the benefit of our region. A regional workshop will be held in Castlemaine on Thursday 20 July, before a regional assembly in Bendigo on 17 August. Compost bins and free movie

Shire residents can purchase a 220 litre compost bin at the discounted rate of $20 from the Castlemaine Waste Facility. The offer is part of Council’s efforts to reduce the amount of organic waste that goes to landfill. To celebrate the initiative residents are invited to a free public screening of the documentary Just Eat It – A food waste story. The screening begins at 7.00pm on Thursday 27 July at the Ray Bradfield Room, Castlemaine. To register your attendance contact Dallas Giles on 5471 1768 or d.giles@mountalexander.vic.gov.au.
