Promote your event

Council invites event organisers to promote your event at the upcoming Event Exhibition. The exhibition showcases shire events in 2017/2018 and is held in the Castlemaine Market Building. Around 13,000 people are expected to visit the building during the exhibit, which runs from Monday 11 September until Monday 16 October. Reserve an art wall for $45. Small business workshop

Come along to the next small business workshop, Employing and Keeping the Right Staff. The workshop will be held from 5.00pm to 8.30pm on Monday 4 September at the Council Chambers in the Civic Centre, Castlemaine. Cost is $30. Tickets must be booked online via Eventbrite. Rate notices on the way

Council advises rate notices are on the way, with the first instalment due by Monday 2 October. Rates and charges are due in quarterly instalments. Council issues reminder notices at least 14 days before each instalment, and offers a number of convenient methods for payment. Your rates go towards services like aged care, waste collection, maintenance of local roads, footpaths, playgrounds and more. Temporary closure of alternative highway

To allow construction of the elevated circular road for the new Ravenswood Interchange to continue, VicRoads advises the Calder Alternative Highway will be closed to all Melbourne-bound traffic between Bendigo-Maldon Road and the Calder Highway from Thursday 17 August. The road will be closed to traffic for three months. Please follow detour signs. For more information visit the Ravenswood Interchange section of the VicRoads website.
