Artists living or working in Mount Alexander Shire have an exciting opportunity to display their work along Mechanics Lane in Castlemaine.

Mount Alexander Shire Council will commission at least three works through this project.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for local artists to exhibit their work in this popular thoroughfare,” said Kara Finlay, Cultural Development Officer.

“We are looking for artists and creative groups who are interested in creating 2D works that can be installed along the fence right near the Castlemaine Library,” she said.

The works will be displayed next year during the Regional Centre for Culture.

“This is a chance to be involved in this wonderful year that celebrates creativity, arts and culture,” said Ms Finlay.

The works must be easy to install with designs that create interest, surprise and new experiences for people walking past.

Paste-ups are preferred but other proposals will be considered.

To apply, simply complete and submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) form by Monday 11 December.

Find the EOI form and more at the Arts and Culture section of Council’s website www.mountalexander.vic.gov.au. For more information contact Kara Finlay on 5471 1877 or arts@mountalexander.vic.gov.au.
