Storm clean-up

Residents impacted by the December storm can drop off storm-related green waste for free at Taradale Oval on Friday 9 and Saturday 10 February. The collection point will be open from 9.00am to 3.00pm. Enter and exit via Lyell Street. Community members can take a free load of mulch at the site.

Local residents can also take storm debris to the Castlemaine and Maldon waste facilities for free until the end of January. The free disposal period does not apply to normal garden waste, grass clippings or commercial waste. Roadside wood collection will be available for community members in February. Conditions apply.

Roadworks in Harcourt North

The McIvor Road intersection with Harmony Way in North Harcourt will be temporarily closed from Monday 22 January to Thursday 25 January for road rehabilitation works. Council apologises for the inconvenience. The upgrade is part of our road rehabilitation program funded by Federal Government Roads to Recovery program.

Tree pruning will soon start to provide clearance around powerlines in Castlemaine as part of Council’s ongoing street tree maintenance program. Works will be undertaken by qualified contractors to meet electric safety regulations and reduce the risk of fire, blackouts and power surges. Trees on private property will not be pruned.
