Mondo Lounge promises a year of fun for young people, with a special event this week to launch the program with a free BBQ.

Tuesday 6 February 2018

Mondo Lounge invites young people aged 12-25 years to join a free BBQ and planning day to kick start the 2018 program.

The first event for the year will be held at the Ray Bradfield Room next to Victory Park in Castlemaine at 3.30pm on Friday 9 February.

“Mondo Lounge is a youth space to meet with friends after school in a safe, supervised and supportive environment,” said Jodie Hearn, Youth Activities Officer, Mount Alexander Shire Council.

“If you want to find a place to hang out with your friends, meet new people and get involved in a range of activities, workshops and training opportunities then Mondo Lounge is the place for you.”

Term one will be packed full of fun activities and excursions including cup cake decorating, a Mario Kart tournament, movies at the Theatre Royal, some action at Bendigo Bowling Centre and an excursion to Melbourne’s biggest indoor skate park The Shed.

“We are really excited to kick start term one with a great line up of activities to get the new school year started,” said Jodie.

“There is something for everyone and we encourage all young people to come along and check out the space,” she said.

Mondo Lounge is open from 3.30pm to 6.00pm every Friday afternoon during the school term.

Follow the Mount Alexander Shire Council Youth Facebook page or keep an eye on Youth section of Council’s website for upcoming locations and activities.
