Come along to a free workshop to learn how to make your very own shopping bag at our next Sustainable Living Workshop.

Tuesday 6 March 2018

If you’re looking for ideas about how to reduce your impact on the environment a good start is reducing the amount of plastic you use.

Come along to Mount Alexander Shire Council’s next Sustainable Living Workshop and learn how you can ditch the plastic bag in favour of your own beautifully made reusable shopping bag.

“Bring a friend and come down for a couple of hours of fun while you create your very own shopping bag,” said Rebecca Stockfeld, Council’s Acting Director Sustainable Development.

“This workshop is a great one to kick off our 2018 workshops, which have something for everyone,” said Ms Stockfeld.

Free monthly workshops include topics such as caring for large old native trees, fermenting foods, collecting native seeds and maintaining your bike.

“This is our fifth year of running these workshops, and we would love to see even more people head along and learn something new,” said Ms Stockfeld.

The Castlemaine Country Women’s Association is leading the reusable shopping bag workshop. Spaces are limited so be sure to book early. The event is child friendly.

Workshop details:

What: Make your own reusable bags
When: 10.30am − 12.30pm, Saturday 24 March
