Do you have a brilliant idea for a business but are unsure of how to get things started?

To turn an idea into a profitable business you need to plan every stage of how you will take it to market. That approach applies whether you’ve already invested hours in development or whether your new product or service is yet to be tested.

You can find out all the critical steps to launch your business at Mount Alexander Shire Council’s next small business workshop.

The Commercialising Your Idea workshop consists of two sessions that will teach you everything you need to know about how to take your innovative idea off the drawing board.

“The workshop will help you to assess the feasibility of your idea, decide its business potential and develop a clear strategy, with the help of an experienced innovation and commercialisation expert,” said Eva Parkin, Economic Development Officer, Mount Alexander Shire Council.

“Our workshops are small, informative and friendly and you get ample time with the trainer to ask all of your burning questions. Another great thing about this workshop is it includes two free follow-up one-on-one mentoring sessions offering tailored advice to help keep you on track from day one.

“You get cross class learning, two workshops and two mentoring sessions. At $75 this is awesome value,” she said.

Council has received excellent feedback on its small business workshops.

Richenda Pritchard from Miss Pritchard’s Pantry in Maldon, recently attended the Business Essentials workshop. She said it was one of the most informative business training sessions she’s attended.

“I thought that the program was very well constructed in regards to the time available, and that the presenter was excellent,” said Ms Pritchard.

“Not only did he really know what he was talking about, he delivered an interesting and informative presentation that gave us all some very handy tips and insights into developing our businesses. He was open to questions, and extremely helpful in explaining some of the more unfamiliar concepts.

“I also appreciated the thoughtfulness and care that went into the workshop – I left feeling that Eva Parkin and Council were interested in the development of our business, and that I could now confidently utilise more of the business and economic workshops in the future,” she said.
