Mondo Lounge goes bush

Mondo Lounge invites young people aged 12-25 years to join its Reconciliation Week celebrations with local organisation Mirawara on Friday 1 June at Mount Tarrengower.

Mirawara specialises in outdoor experiences such as rock climbing, nature skills, indigenous cultural events and bushwalking. The group will facilitate the evening, with special guest Rebecca Phillips.

Rebecca Phillips is a Djaara storyteller, engaged in Dja Dja Wurrung language retrieval, who will share stories, take young people on a bushwalk and teach cultural dance meets hip-hop fusion.

The free event will feature campfire food along with games and activities.

Spaces are limited and bookings are essential.

What: Mondo Lounge evening at Mount Tarrengower for Reconciliation Week
When: 4.00pm to 8.00pm on Friday 1 June
Where: Meet the bus at Mondo Lounge, 30 Templeton St, Castlemaine. The bus will drop participants off at the same location at 8.00pm.
Cost: Free.

Council’s Mondo Lounge is a hangout space that offers free activities, workshops and training opportunities for young people aged 12–25 years. Mondo Lounge is a Mount Alexander Shire Council initiative and is funded by the Victorian Government’s Engage! program.
