Council will temporarily close two bridges in Faraday and Taradale as it starts replacement works in June.

Bubbs Lane in Faraday will close to all traffic for about three weeks from Monday 4 June.

A detour will be in place along Old Chapel Lane via a purpose build road alongside the Coliban water channel. This detour is not suitable for large heavy vehicles.

Old Drummond Road near Shirley Drive in Taradale will close from Monday 18 June for around four weeks.

“The two bridges were identified for replacement as part of our annual asset replacement program,” said Marcus Goonan, Acting Manager Infrastructure.

“Contractors will demolish and replace the bridges which will see the removal of load limits at those sites,” he said.

The closures will be signed and road work speed limits will be in place. Council has notified emergency services and directly affected residents. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Council is responsible for maintaining the local road and bridge network, including 230 bridges and major culverts.

Detour maps will be available below. For more information contact Project Engineer Daniel Riley on 5471 1700.
