Smiles all around at Maldon Kinder

Kids playing undercover at Maldon Kinder

Wednesday 7 June 2018

With winter upon us Maldon Kindergarten kids are making the most of the centre upgrades that allow them to play outside even when the weather is cold and rainy.

Maldon Kindergarten Early Childhood Teacher Kristy Watson said a new undercover space is great for the kids.

“Having an undercover area means we can offer our children outdoor play, even in inclement weather,” said Ms Watson.

“Outdoor play is essential for offering high quality education and we really appreciate Council’s commitment to early childhood education,” she said.

Along with the outdoor play area, the bathroom was upgraded including new toilets and accessible facilities.

This follows on from the work last year to install energy-efficient LED lights and new flooring, with a total of $82,000 invested in the kindergarten over the past year.

Over the last few years Council has also renovated the Castlemaine Kindergarten and South Castlemaine Kindergarten for the benefit of students, families and staff.
