Seeking Maldon design guidelines advisers

Council is updating the Maldon Design Guidelines and is seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from community and skill based representatives to join a project advisory group for a one year term. The guidelines aim to provide detailed design criteria for development to complement and protect the heritage significance of Maldon. We are looking for four members with a demonstrated knowledge of Maldon’s heritage, landscape or built environment and an understanding of the role of local government in heritage matters. Boost your digital marketing

If you are looking to improve your online marketing then head along to the next Small Business Workshop. The session will be held from 9.30am to 1.00pm on Monday 3 September at the Civic Centre. An evening with David Holmgren

Come along and hear from David Holmgren, a globally recognised ecological thinker and co-originator of the permaculture concept. This free and insightful talk is hosted by Council as part of our Sustainable Living Workshop series, in partnership with Mount Alexander Sustainability Group. Join us from 6.00pm on Thursday 6 September at the Phee Broadway Theatre for refreshments, with David’s talk commencing at 7.00pm. RSVP at http://stks.be/retrosuburbia.

2018 Push Start Battle of the Bands is here!

Head down to the Theatre Royal between 6.30pm - 10.30pm on Friday 24 August to see local young musicians in the Battle of the Bands. Tickets are $10 or $5 student/concession. The all ages gig is alcohol, smoke and drug free. It is run by Council’s youth committee Eight Metre Speaker and is a Victorian Government initiative.

Maldon standpipe upgrade

The standpipe at Maldon will be closed this week while it is upgraded to an Avdata electronic key system. Users of the standpipe will need an electronic Avdata key when the standpipe reopens on Saturday 26 August. Find out more at www.mountalexander.vic.gov.au/Standpipes or phone Council on 5471 1700.

Access and inclusion survey

Don't forget to share your views on access and inclusion around the shire. Complete an online survey at www.mountalexander.vic.gov.au/HaveYourSay. Printed copies including an easy English version are available at the Civic Centre at Castlemaine, Castlemaine Library and key locations in towns across the shire. If you would like a copy posted to you, or need help to participate, phone the Community Wellbeing Team on 5471 1700. The survey closes at 5.00pm on Friday 31 August.

Have your say on streetscapes

You now have until Sunday 26 August to have a say on the updated streetscape designs for Chewton, Campbells Creek, Guildford, Newstead and Taradale. Review the draft designs and complete an online survey at www.mountalexander.vic.gov.au/HaveYourSay. View designs at various locations in each town.
