Clean Up Australia Day

Thank you to everyone who took part in Clean Up Australia Day on Sunday 3 March. Volunteers collected more than ten cubic metres of dumped rubbish and litter and put considerable effort into separating recyclables. Special thanks go to all the community groups involved including the Faraday Community Association, Baringhup Hall Committee, Campbells Creek Landcare Group and Golden Point Landcare, along with Veolia Environmental Services.

Nominate now for youth awards

Don’t forget to nominate a young person in the Mount Alexander Youth Awards. The categories cover leadership in the workplace, music and arts, sports and recreation, the community, environment, and education. Nominations close at midnight on Sunday 24 March. Forms are available from the Civic Centre, Castlemaine Library, Maldon Neighbourhood Centre and at the events section of www.mountalexandershireyouth.com.au. Join an early years group

Representatives from local early years service providers, organisations and the community are invited to apply to join the Mount Alexander Early Years Steering Group. The group will focus on delivering outcomes of the Mount Alexander Early Years Plan 2018-2021. Membership is for a one year term with meetings held every six weeks.

View an Expression of Interest Form and draft Terms of Reference at www.mountalexander.vic.gov.au/Early_Years_Plan or at the Civic Centre, Castlemaine Library and Maldon Neighbourhood Centre. Expressions of Interest are open until 5.00pm on Monday 25 March.

Meetings are held at the Civic Centre. Everyone is welcome to attend.
