Extension to lap swimming in Maldon Following a request from the residents of Maldon, the lap swimming arrangements at the Maldon Swimming Pool have been extended for the remaining weeks of the season.   Lap swimming is currently available in Maldon on a Wednesday evening from 6pm - 7pm, and will now also be avialable on Monday and Thursday evenings between 6pm - 7pm.    PrYme Movers, an activity program for older adults will also commence at the Maldon Pool on Thursday, February 2 from 5pm - 6pm.   The Castlemaine Swimming Pool offers the opportunity for lap swimming on Tuesday and Friday evenings from 6pm – 7pm.  The Newstead Pool offers lap swimming every Wednesday from 2pm – 4pm.  Expression of Interest forms for lap swimming are also available at Harcourt Pool.   There are four outdoor swimming pools open across the Shire this season.  These are located in Castlemaine, Harcourt, Maldon and Newstead.    Admission fees to the Shire’s swimming pools this season are $2.60 for children, $3.90 for adults, $55.50 for a single season ticket and $130 for a family season ticket.   Season tickets are valid across the four pools in the Shire.  The swimming pool season will continue through until Monday 12March. As part of the 2011/2012 budget, Council adopted a Concession Card Holder rate for some admission fees.   The opening times and contact numbers for each swimming pool are available on this website under Council Services, in the Recreation section.
