MindFit May

Mount Alexander Shire Council is presenting three workshops for businesses that explore mindfulness, wellness and resilience in the workplace.

Castlemaine-based company, Mindfit at Work are facilitating the workshops, which will focus on helping people be healthier, happier, and more efficient at work.

The three one-hour workshops will take place on Tuesday 31 May and aim to help small businesses navigate the impact of current world events on the day-to-day lives of their employees.

Mount Alexander Shire Council’s Manager of Economy and Culture, Merryn Tinkler, is excited to see workshops addressing the widespread stress and fatigue experienced as a result of the pandemic.

“Looking after the mental health and wellbeing of ourselves and our staff is more important now than ever,” said Ms Tinkler.

“We’re excited to bring you a series of workshops that focus on both caring for yourself and those around you.”

Date: Tuesday 31 May
Time: 9.30am–1.30pm
Location: Castlemaine Goods Shed, 11 Kennedy Street, Castlemaine
Cost: $20 (inclusive of all three sessions)
Catering: nibbles and light refreshments provided

Topics covered are:

Compassion Fatigue

Compassion fatigue is physical and mental exhaustion that many employers are experiencing after caring for their anxious employees over the past two years.

In this session, MindFit at Work will teach you how to:

• identify signs that others are not coping
• support your teammates and clients
• practice self-care by setting personal boundaries.

Managing Burnout Fatigue

Burnout fatigue, like compassion fatigue, leads to physical and mental exhaustion. The global pandemic has left both employers and employees in need of rest and workplace flexibility.

In this session, MindFit at Work will teach you how to:

• restore enthusiasm and energy in your teams
• set aside time each day to replenish yourself
• implement fatigue-busting hacks.

#Hack Your Performance

Bursts of energy come for different people at different times of the day. Sometimes one hour is enough time to finish an entire project, and sometimes only a few emails can be sent in that time.

In this session, MindFit at Work will teach you how to:

• create a schedule that utilises your most productive working hours
• replenish your brain at regular intervals
• manage your time more effectively
• use the Pomodoro technique.
