Amendment C085 proposes to rezone the Diamond Gully Southern Residential Greenfields Area to General Residential Zone (GRZ1) and to apply a Development Plan Overlay (DPO11).

Background to amendment

The Diamond Gully Structure Plan (DGSP) was adopted by Council at the Ordinary Meeting of Council on 12 July 2016 as part of Amendment C056 to the Mount Alexander Planning Scheme.

This amendment implemented some of the recommendations of the DGSP and included the DGSP and the Castlemaine Landfill Odour and Buffer Assessment, May 2016 as reference documents in the planning scheme. Amendment C085 is the next stage of planning for DGSP area.

What the amendment does

The Amendment rezones the identified land in Diamond Gully from Rural Living Zone (RLZ) and Township Zone (TZ) to the General Residential Zone, Schedule 1 (GRZ1).

The amendment also introduces a Development Plan Overlay (Schedule 11) to the rezoned land, which sets out the requirements for development to be consistent with the Diamond Gully Structure Plan, 2016.
