Design of Diamond Gully Road and Ireland Street Precinct, McKenzie Hill

Project summary

The Diamond Gully precinct is a high growth area in Castlemaine. The area consists of significant future residential land and is expected to provide for the majority of new dwellings in Castlemaine.

A key requirement of the establishment of growth areas is ensuring the delivery of appropriate infrastructure services to support the local community. This includes roads, intersections, footpaths and drainage.

Diamond Gully Road, Ireland Street and their associated intersections, have been identified for improvement as part of the Diamond Gully Structure plan. The works include widening the existing road, install kerb and channel, underground drainage and construct a shared path.

In order for these works to progress, a feature survey and detailed design will need to be completed.
