Supply of Air Conditioning Maintenance and Installation, Contract G1241-2018 / M1376-2018
Central Goldfields Shire Council acting as lead agent with Mount Alexander Shire Council is seeking submissions for the above tender. Mount Alexander Shire Council will conduct site visits at 9.00am Tuesday 27 March from the Civic Centre, Corner Lyttleton and Lloyd Streets, Castlemaine. Central Goldfields Shire Council will conduct site visits at 1.00pm, Wednesday 4 April from the Shire Office, 22 Nolan Street, Maryborough. Tenders must be received by 12noon, Wednesday 18 April.

Seeking community bus volunteers

The Age-friendly Communities Grant Program is seeking volunteer bus drivers to support the trial of a new community bus timetable as part of its Better Community Buses project. The six-week trial is scheduled to start in April and will test a number of different services and timetables throughout the shire. Better Community Buses is one of four projects under the Age-friendly Communities Grants Program provided by the Victorian Government and supported by Council.

Congratulations to Cr Lesser

Max Lesser has been elected as a Mount Alexander Shire Councillor to fill the Castlemaine Ward vacancy, following the resignation of Robin Taylor last month. The election result follows a countback conducted by the Victorian Electoral Commission. Councillors and staff congratulate Cr Lesser on his election and look forward to supporting him in the role. Shopping bag workshop

Come along to Council’s Sustainable Living Workshop and learn how to make a reusable shopping bag with help from the Castlemaine Country Women’s Association. The free workshop will be held from 10.30am to 12.30pm on Saturday 24 March at the Castlemaine Botanical Gardens Tea Rooms. Market Building to go solar

Council will soon install solar panels on the historic Market Building in Mostyn Street, Castlemaine. The solar system will produce around half of the electricity used by the heritage listed building and save Council about $5,000 each year. Council has received a permit from Heritage Victoria for the installation.
