Council adopted the 2018/2019 Budget at its Ordinary Meeting of Council on Tuesday 26 June. Thank you to everyone who provided input or feedback on this important document. The budget is available to view on Council’s website or at the Civic Centre.

Small business operators are invited along to the next small business workshop in August. Find out how you can boost your marketing strategy and position your business for future growth. The Advanced Marketing workshop will be held from 9.30am to 1.00pm on Monday 6 August at the Civic Centre in Castlemaine. Tickets are $30. To book, follow the links from Council’s website at www.mountalexander.vic.gov.au/Business_resources. Places are limited so book soon to avoid disappointment.

Works from more than 80 local artists are on display at the annual Market Art Winter Exhibition at Castlemaine’s historic Market Building. Head along to see paintings, sculpture, jewellery, glassware, prints, photography, textiles and more. All works are for sale. The exhibition is coordinated by Council to support and promote our cultural and artistic communities.

A free waste and recycling app has been developed for local residents. Download the Loddon Mallee Waste Info App by Friday 13 July for a chance to win a $200 eco-prize pack. To be in the draw, download the app through the App Store or Google Play with the search: Loddon Mallee. Select Mount Alexander Shire Council and go to the Report Problem tab at the bottom. Enter in your contact details and select Waste App Competition from the topics. In the notes section name an item you are unsure what bin it belongs in. The winner will announced on Tuesday 24 July.

Did you know that Goldfields Library Corporation now offers home library services for people who are unable to visit the library? Volunteers deliver reserved items or those that reflect the borrower’s preferences each month. To find out whether you are eligible for the service or to register contact the library service on 54492790 or email homelibraryservice@ncgrl.vic.gov.au.
