Mount Alexander Shire residents are encouraged to share their views and concerns about litter and illegal dumping.

The Loddon Mallee Waste and Resource Recovery Group is seeking the community’s opinion through an online community survey that is open until Sunday 4 August.

The results of the survey will help develop a Regional Litter and Illegal Dumping Plan that will include a number of actions to tackle the top five priorities.

“We want to hear from residents about litter hotspots, how illegal dumping has impacted them, the ease at which littering and illegal dumping can be reported and any ideas they may have on litter prevention,” said Phil Josipovic, Director Infrastructure and Development, Mount Alexander Shire Council.

“We encourage everyone to jump online and share their views,” he said.

The survey is available on the Engage Victoria website www.engage.vic.gov.au by searching ‘Regional Litter and Illegal Dumping plan’.

It takes about 15 minutes to complete, is confidential and anonymous and individual responses will be collated and analysed as group data. As an incentive, participants can provide their details to enter a draw to win a $100 gift card.

Survey results will be reported back to the community in the following months.

Council is a member of the Loddon Mallee Waste and Resource Recovery Group which is coordinating this work. Funding to develop the regional plan is provided by the Victorian Government.
