Council is asking residents and ratepayers their ideas on the budget priorities for the year ahead.

Wednesday 13 November 2019

Mount Alexander Shire Council is seeking ideas from the community on budget priorities for the next financial year.

“While it may seem like a while away the organisation has started working on the Mount Alexander Shire Council Budget 2020/2021,” said Carolyn Ross, Executive Manager Corporate Services, Mount Alexander Shire Council.

“Staff and Councillors would like to hear now about ideas on projects and services that are important to the community.

“This will provide additional time to learn about the ideas and initiatives that the community have and help understand the potential funding required.

“It will also enable a review of how these will align with the priorities in our Council Plan,” she said.

The organisation is more than half way in delivering on the Mount Alexander Shire Council Plan 2017-2021, which means many projects and services in the budget are already set. At the same time, Council wants to consider new ideas that align with its priorities.

If you would like to share your ideas for the upcoming budget, please complete the online survey by Friday 15 December. You can also pick up a hard copy at the Civic Centre in Castlemaine or Visitor Information Centres in Castlemaine and Maldon.
