The draft guidelines are currently on public exhibition. To find out more come to a drop-in information session from 4.00pm to 7.30pm on Thursday 20 February or Wednesday 18 March at Maldon Community Centre on Francis Street. You can also complete an online survey or make a submission in writing by 5.00pm on Thursday 2 April. For more information visit www.mountalexander.vic.gov.au/MaldonDesignGuidelines.

Temporary changes to recycling

Veolia Environmental Services have advised Council recycling processing will recommence on Monday 17 February. Veolia temporarily suspended the processing of recycling in late January due to market forces associated with the recent bushfires. In the meantime you can take sorted recyclables such as paper, cardboard, glass bottles and jars, and steel and aluminium materials like tins, cans and aerosols to transfer stations in Castlemaine and Maldon for recycling for free. For more information contact Council on 5471 1700 or visit www.mountalexander.vic.gov.au/wastemanagement.

Satisfaction survey starts soon

Households are encouraged to participate in the 2020 Community Satisfaction Survey to assess the performance of Council. The annual state-wide telephone survey will begin in mid-February. It will be carried out by independent market research agency National Field Surveys across a random representative sample of at least 400 residents. If you receive a call please take the time to provide your feedback. It will be used to help identify areas for improvement in the programs and services we deliver. Individual details and responses remain confidential.
