Playgrounds open and ready to play

Local play spaces have reopened and are ready for play.

Playgrounds, skate and BMX parks in Mount Alexander Shire are all open for play.

Parents and carers are encouraged to ensure their children follow physical distancing and hygiene rules to protect against coronavirus (COVID-19).

Main playgrounds at Castlemaine Botanical Gardens, Campbells Creek Park, Maldon Gardens, Taradale Mineral Springs Reserve and Victory Park in Castlemaine opened at the end of May, along with skate and BMX parks in Castlemaine, Maldon and Harcourt.

Other playgrounds have opened up this week following a clean and safety check.

Signage is in place to remind everyone of what they can do to protect themselves from COVID-19 and reduce the spread.

They include:
• Stay away if you or your child is feeling unwell or shows any symptoms of coronavirus
• Wash your hands with soap and water, or use hand sanitiser
• Keep a distance of 1.5 metres between each other
• Follow the public gathering rules and
• Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue (or elbow) if you sneeze or cough
