Mount Alexander Shire Council is inviting residents to come together and help contribute to the new four-year Council Plan.

Council will be running two online community forums – on Monday 2 August at 6.00pm, and Wednesday 4 August at 6.00pm - where shire residents will be asked about their priorities and focus areas for their local community. This vital input will inform the development of the next Council Plan, a core document that outlines the strategic objectives and priorities for Council over the next four years.

“Following the enormous response to our Your Community, Your Vision project, we’ve had a chance to compile the community’s ten-year vision for Mount Alexander Shire,” said Darren Fuzzard, Chief Executive Officer of Mount Alexander Shire Council.

“This next phase of community engagement enables the people of our shire to give us their specific ideas for possible inclusion in the Council Plan. While the Community Vision is a shared understanding of what our ideal future could look like, the Council Plan will set out a four-year roadmap to focus Council’s effort on helping to achieve that vision,” said Mr Fuzzard.

“I know that our Council is keen to ensure the 2021-2025 Council Plan is well informed by the community through meaningful engagement.

“Identifying where our limited resources are best utilised to support our community is a challenging task and the Council Plan is an essential guide to addressing this. Our desire in this next round of consultation is to capture as much of the knowledge and wisdom of the people in our community as possible so that the strategic objectives and priorities of the Council Plan make a real difference.

“We are very grateful for the input our community gave us in May and June already and we are really looking forward to more great ideas coming through this next process.” said Mr Fuzzard.

The online forums will provide an opportunity to report back to the community the results of the Your Community, Your Vision project in more detail. They will also offer a final chance for the community to help refine the Community Vision prior to its launch.

Online forum 1 – Monday 2 August, 6.00pm
Online forum 2 – Wednesday 4 August, 6.00pm

Forums will be held via Zoom. Participants will be sent a link via email prior to the event.
