XtremeInc Youth Projects and Mount Alexander Shire Council invite young people and their families across the shire to celebrate Victorian Youth Week at the annual 2TheXtreme Youth Festival.

The festival includes skateboard, scooter and parkour competitions and free workshops and activities including dance, street art, badge making and tie dying.

It will be held from 12.00noon to 6.30pm on Saturday 21 April at the Castlemaine Skate Park and Western Reserve Oval.

“We’re really excited for this year’s festival, and hope to run a diverse event which will cater to everyone’s interests,” said Jade Bujeya, member of Council’s Youth Advisory Group.

“The Young Makers' Market is a new addition and will host a variety of stallholders showcasing their talents. We encourage everyone to come along, check out these amazing creations and hopefully take some home,” said Ms Bujeya.

Festival goers will be entertained by headline act FD3 on the festival main stage along with local bands The Wilson’s and Stop that Mammoth!

“This is a great event for our community to celebrate Youth Week, by showcasing the skills, accomplishments and contributions of our young people,” said Shannon Lacy, Youth Development Officer, Mount Alexander Shire Council.

Entry to the festival is $10 adults, $8 children under 18 years and $30 for a family of four.
