The Templeton Street footpath in Castlemaine will be upgraded in June, with works starting soon.

Monday 4 June 2018

Works will soon begin to replace the footpath on the southern side of Templeton Street between Kennedy Street and Barker Street in Castlemaine.

The works will repair damage to the footpath between the train station and the central business district. Mount Alexander Shire Council upgraded the footpath on the northern side of Templeton Street last year.

Works will start on Tuesday 12 June and are expected to take approximately six weeks, weather permitting.

To minimise disruption, the construction team will coordinate the works with the shop owners and residents.

Access to businesses and properties along Templeton Street will be maintained during the project. However, pedestrians are encouraged to walk on the northern side of the street during the works.

A small number of parking spaces may be temporarily impacted.

The footpath upgrade is part of Council’s ongoing commitment to improving the shire’s road and footpath network.
