Get moving for Seniors Festival

Last call for events to be included in the 2018 Seniors Festival in October.

Thursday 2 August 2018

The deadline for submissions to be included in the 2018 Seniors Festival has been extended for another week, to give every local organisation the chance to have their event promoted as part of this year’s event.

“We are looking for even more fun and fabulous events to be held in October as part of our local Seniors Festival celebrations,” said Marilyn Bennet, Festival Steering Committee member.

“The festival is incredibly popular and provides a huge range of activities for seniors to get out and about, try their hand at something different and meet new friends,” said Ms Bennet.

“The committee is very excited about this years’ festival and we would love to hear from more local groups and organisations who would like to get involved,” she said.

This year the process is simplified so groups only need to complete one expression of interest form. The one form allows you to:

- Host a stall at the Seniors Expo on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 October to promote the work your not-for-profit club does with seniors
- Apply for a support grant (up to $200) for your event
- Have your event included in the free program guide.

Collect an expression of interest form from Castlemaine Community House (CCH) at 65 Templeton Street, Castlemaine or on their website at www.cch.org.au/community/seniors-festival-2018 or from Maldon Neighbourhood Centre on the corner of Church and Edwards streets, Maldon.

You can also request to have a printed copy sent to you via mail. Contact CCH on 5472 4842 or email reception@cch.org.au. You can also contact CCH to discuss your application.

Expression of interest forms are due by 5.00pm on Monday 13 August.

This year’s festival is arranged by the Seniors Festival Steering Committee in partnership with Mount Alexander Shire Council and Castlemaine Community House.

Don’t forget Victorian Seniors Card holders are eligible for eight days of free public transport (including all V/Line services) as part of the Seniors Festival from Sunday 7 to Sunday 14 October.
