Castlemaine District Community Health (CDCH) has received funding for the two year project Castlemaine Takes Pride, which aims to improve the wellbeing of people in the LGBTIQ+ community. Come along to a community workshop to find out more about challenges faced by LGBTIQ+ people and how you can support your LGBTIQ+ friends. Workshops are free and open to all members of the community.

Sessions are:

• 10.00am – 1.00pm on Tuesday 18 September at Ray Bradfield Room, Castlemaine.
• 5.00pm – 7.30pm on Thursday 20 September at Ray Bradfield Room, Castlemaine.
• 5.00pm – 7.30pm on Tuesday 25 September at Maldon Neighbourhood Centre, Maldon.
• 10.00am – 1.00pm on Wednesday 26 September at Maldon Neighbourhood Centre, Maldon.

Book your place through Castlemaine Community House (CCH) on 5472 4842 or email reception@cch.org.au. The project is funded through the Department of Premier and Cabinet. It is coordinated by CDCH in partnership with Council, CCH and the Central Victorian Primary Care Partnership.

Tourism operators can apply to participate in a mentoring program to help build their online presence. The opportunity aims to improve the digital capacity of small and micro tourism businesses such as retail, accommodation and hospitality businesses across the Bendigo Regional Tourism area. Numbers are capped so apply now at www.brtmentoring.digital.

The North Central Goldfields Regional Library Corporation’s Regional Library Agreement 2019-2023, including the Service Funding Agreement 2019-2023, is available for public comment. This is an opportunity to review and provide feedback on the Regional Library Agreement that Council will sign to remain part of the North Central Goldfields Regional Library Corporation serving Mount Alexander, Loddon and Macedon Ranges shires and the City of Greater Bendigo. Council is reviewing its Local Law No. 1 – Meeting Procedures. The law will cease operation on 30 November 2018. A draft of the revised local law is available at www.mountalexander.vic.gov.au/HaveYourSay and at the Civic Centre. Any person who wishes to make a submission to Council on the updated version may do so in writing. Property owners can expect to receive their 2018/2019 rates notice in the post in the coming week, with the first instalment due on Monday 1 October. Council provides a number of convenient payment options including BPAY and BPAY View. You can also make a payment in person at the Civic Centre or at any Australia Post office, by calling 1300 486 757 or through our website. Ratepayers who receive Centrelink payments can opt to use Centrepay. If you don’t receive your notice or are having difficulty paying your rates, please contact 5471 1700 for assistance.
