Rate notices have been reissued to ensure ratepayers can pay their next instalment at Australia Post.

Thursday 6 September 2018

Mount Alexander Shire Council has reissued rate notices for the 2018/2019 financial year due to a scanning error which prevents payments to be made at Australia Post.

Rate payers can still pay their instalments via other payment methods using the first notice.

The first notices were received by ratepayers today, and replacement versions will available late next week.

“We know about one in four rate payers like to pay their rates at a local post office so we made the call to reissue all rate notices again,” Bradley Thomas, Executive Manager, Business Performance.

“We apologise to all our customers for the inconvenience and will be pursuing this matter with our supplier to ensure it doesn’t happen again,” he said.

Rates in Mount Alexander Shire are payable by four instalments, with the first instalment due on Monday 1 October 2018.

Council offers a number of convenient payment options including BPAY and BPAY View.
You can still make a payment in person at the Civic Centre, by calling 1300 486 757 or through our website. Ratepayers who receive Centrelink payments can use Centrepay.
