Thinking of selling or moving on from your business? Head along to our workshop on succession planning.

Thursday 18 October 2018

Are you thinking of selling your business or considering a change of management?

Find out the critical steps for planning a shift in your business at Mount Alexander Shire Council’s final small business workshop for the year.

“People often don’t realise the amount of work it takes to exit a business,” said Eva Parkin, Economic Development Officer, Mount Alexander Shire Council.

“Whether your next stage is selling your business or setting up for succession, find out how you can be prepared by coming along to this essential planning workshop,” said Ms Parkin.

Over two hours you will learn how to identify when you should start planning your exit strategy, how to increase the value of your business and identify potential successors.

“If you’re considering selling, leaving or planning for succession in one, three or five years from now, it’s never too soon to start planning,” said Ms Parkin.

After 25 years as a staff photographer in news and magazine publishing, local freelance photographer Brendan McCarthy has attended a number of Council’s small business workshops.

“The dynamics of working for yourself are totally different to working for an employer, so I’ve found the workshops a real resource in making the transition,” said Mr McCarthy.

“I’ve come away from each one I’ve attended with at least one good idea that made the sessions absolutely worthwhile," he said.

“For me they’ve been a great investment of time and money.”

Council’s small business workshop series will recommence in February 2019.
