Fire Danger Period starts

Our shire is now in the Fire Danger Period. This means there are restrictions about where and when you can light fires in the open. Find out about the restrictions and tips on preparing a bushfire emergency plan at www.cfa.vic.gov.au.

Australia Day Awards

If you know a local person who has given outstanding service to the community nominate them now for the 2019 Mount Alexander Shire Australia Day Awards. Categories are Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Senior Citizen of the Year and Event of the Year. Nominations close on Sunday 25 November. Plan Harcourt info sessions

Council invites the community to join one of two information sessions to find out more about Plan Harcourt and how to get involved.

Planning sessions

6.00pm to 7.30pm, Thursday 15 November, Harcourt Bowling Club, 1 Warren Street
11.00am to 12.30pm, Friday 16 November, Goldfields Track Café, 92 Harmony Way

Tree pruning to start

Tree pruning will begin in mid-November to provide clearance around powerlines in Castlemaine. The works will be undertaken by contractors to meet electric safety regulations as part of Council’s street tree maintenance program.

Rate reminder

Property owners will soon receive a reminder notice advising the second rates instalment for the financial year is due on Friday 30 November.

Council offers a number of ways to pay your rates. If you don’t receive your notice or are having difficulty paying, please contact 5471 1700 for assistance.
