Festive bin collection changes

If your rubbish and recycling is usually collected on a Tuesday you’ll need to put your bins out a couple of days early as Christmas and New Year's Day fall on a Tuesday.

Bins usually collected on a Tuesday will be collected on Sunday 23 and Sunday 30 December instead. Ensure your bins are out by 6.00am Sunday morning.

Areas affected include Barkers Creek, central Castlemaine and north of Walker Street, Chewton, Elphinstone, Faraday, Golden Point, Harcourt, Harcourt North, Metcalfe and Taradale. We apologise for the inconvenience.

Collection will return to normal from Tuesday 8 January.

Road naming at Campbells Creek and Castlemaine

Council has received a request to name an unnamed laneway to the rear of the Five Flags Hotel, between Campbells Creek – Fryers Road and Station Street, Campbells Creek. The requestor has asked for the laneway to be named Dinnys Lane, after Dennis (Dinny) Sheehan, who has strong historical links to the Five Flags Store and the Campbells Creek area.

Council also needs to name an unnamed road that runs parallel and to the east of Duke Street, Castlemaine.

For further information visit www.mountalexander.vic.gov.au/RoadNaming. To provide feedback or a suggestion please contact Council in writing by Friday 18 January 2019. Forward feedback to Augustine Sheppard at info@mountalexander.vic.gov.au or PO Box 185, Castlemaine 3450 VIC.
