Workshop to improve your business

Ensuring customers have a consistent and positive experience is critical for small business, and that’s the focus of our upcoming small business workshop. The Effective Business Practices Workshop will be held at 9.30am on Monday 4 March at the Civic Centre in Castlemaine. Cost is $30. Have your say on Harcourt play space

While you're at the Harcourt Twilight Market take a look at the draft concept plan for the new Stanley Park North play space. Review the plans and chat with the community working group and designers from 4.00pm to 8.00pm on Saturday 23 February at James Park, Harcourt. The play space plans will also be available at the Goldfields Track Café, Harcourt Primary School, Harcourt Preschool and on our website from Monday 25 February. Early Years Forum and workshop

If you want to get involved in projects that benefit children and their families come along to the Mount Alexander Early Years Forum. Learn about activities planned for the year ahead including opportunities for information sharing, networking and collaboration. The forum will be followed by the Mount Alexander and Macedon Ranges Early Childhood Co-Design Workshop from 5.30pm to 8.30pm. The Victorian Government-led workshop aims to develop a regional strategy that will improve reading and literacy in children under four. A light supper will be provided. Registration is essential. Apply for Land Management Rate

Landholders are reminded they can apply for the Land Management Rate by Friday 1 March to receive a 20 percent reduction off the general property rate for the next two financial years. Botanical gardens twilight tour

Join a guided twilight tour of the Castlemaine Botanical Gardens and learn about some of the fascinating history of the heritage listed gardens. The one-hour walk is suitable for all ages and abilities. Meet at 6.00pm on Tuesday 12 March at the Old Tea Rooms at the Castlemaine Botanical Gardens, off Downes Street. The tour is part of Castlemaine District Community Health’s monthly walk series. It will be cancelled in the event of heavy rain or a Code Red Day. No bookings or RSVP required.

VicHealth sporting club grants

Calling all community sports clubs! VicHealth's Active Club Grants are now open, with funding of up to $3,000 or up to $10,000 available. The grants aim to help clubs get more women and girls playing sport and increase social or modified sport opportunities for people of all ages, genders and abilities.
