Youth Awards Festival 2017

Come along to the Youth Awards Festival in April and celebrate the great work of young people in our shire.

Thursday 20 March 2019

Come along and have some fun and celebrate the outstanding achievements of our local young people at a free youth festival as part of Victorian Youth Week 2019.

The Mount Alexander Shire Council Youth Awards Festival is at Victory Park in Castlemaine on Friday 5 April from 4.00pm to 7.00pm.

The family friendly event will feature the Young Makers’ Market, live entertainment from young local musicians, food and free activities including an all ages jumping castle and tie-dying activities.

The winners of the 2019 Mount Alexander Shire Youth Awards will also be announced at the festival.

“The festival will be a lot of fun and a great chance to celebrate our young achievers,” said Elwyn Carlile, Council’s Youth Advisory Group member.

“We’ll have free activities, free fairy floss and free ice cream! So, come on down after school, have some food, tie-dye a t-shirt and celebrate the amazing youth in our community.

“You’ll also have a chance to buy homemade products at the festival as part of the Young Makers’ Market. There’ll be food, plants, arts, beauty products, homewares and more. See you there!” she said.

The festival is delivered by young volunteers from Council’s Youth Advisory Group, FReeZa Committee and the Young Makers’ Market Committee.

This event is a Council initiative, supported by the Victorian Government’s Youth Week Grants. Find out more about the event at www.mountalexandershireyouth.com.au.
