End of Fire Danger Period

The CFA District 2 has advised the Fire Danger Period for our shire will end on Wednesday 1 May. Thank you to everyone for taking care and working to reduce the risk of fire during this period. While the restrictions have been lifted we urge the community to continue to exercise care as conditions are still dry. For more information visit www.cfa.vic.gov.au.

Kindergarten enrolment survey

If you have preschool aged children or have recently had children attend a 4 year old funded kindergarten program, we would like to hear about your experiences with the enrolment process. Council has received funding to investigate the value of adopting a central enrolment scheme for kindergartens in the shire. A short survey is available from Council’s website at www.mountalexander.vic.gov.au/HaveYourSay. Printed surveys are available at local kindergartens and child care centres, the Civic Centre, Castlemaine Library and Maternal Child Health Centre at 15 Lyttleton Street, Castlemaine. Complete the survey and go into the draw to win a $100 voucher to purchase books or a massage. The survey is open until Friday 17 May.
