Head along to early years forum

Friday 3 May 2019

Families with children aged under eight years of age, early years’ educators, service providers and organisations are invited to attend the next Mount Alexander Early Years Forum.

The forum provides the opportunity for sharing ideas, developing skills, networking and collaboration, with the aim to help create an innovative and connected community that works together to support children to reach their full potential.

Mount Alexander Shire Council’s Acting Manager Community Partnerships Adam Perrett is encouraging interested community members to come along to the forum, even if they haven’t been involved previously.

“This is the second forum we’ve held this year and we’d love to see some new faces come along, get involved and share ideas,” said Mr Perrett.

“At the forum you’ll have the chance to meet the new members of the Early Years Steering Group, who will help to guide and oversee implementation of the four-year Mount Alexander Early Years Plan,” he said.

Steering Group member Rachel Honeychurch said she’s excited to be involved in this important work.

“I’m looking forward to being part of a group that is helping to create better networks and support for families with young children,” said Ms Honeychurch.

In recognition of the United Nations International Day of Families, the forum will also include guest speakers from the Supported Playgroup program and Family Day Care.

A light supper will be provided. Children are welcome.
