Big week planned for volunteers

National Volunteer Week 2019

Monday 13 May 2019

Don’t forget to come along and support, celebrate and recognise the wonderful work of local volunteers at the many activities planned during National Volunteer Week.

Kicking off on Monday 20 May, the Mount Alexander Volunteer Week program includes a Volunteer Expo, workshops and celebration afternoon tea.

Places are still available at the four free community workshops. The sessions will cover recruitment and retention of volunteers, how to apply for grants and making your organisation online savy.

All workshops are free and will be held on Monday 20 and Tuesday 21 May. Book your place at www.mountalexander.vic.gov.au/Volunteer.

Pop into the Market Building on Mostyn Street, Castlemaine on Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 May and speak with representatives from more than 30 stalls hosted by local volunteer-run groups. You’ll learn what these amazing groups do and the many opportunities available to get involved.

All volunteers and their families are invited along to a celebration event to recognise the great work they do for our community. Join us from 4.00pm to 5.30pm on Wednesday 22 May at the Market Building.

Activities throughout National Volunteer Week are coordinated by Mount Alexander Shire Council. Find out more about the events on the Volunteer page of Council’s website or phone the Community Partnerships Team on 5471 1700.
