35 Etty Street Castlemaine
Notice is given under Section 190 and 223 of the Local Government Act 1989 that Council intends to lease part of the land at 35 Etty Street Castlemaine to Workspace Australia Ltd and Castlemaine Hot Rod Centre Ltd.
Council intends entering into a fifteen year (5 years with 2 x 5 year options) head lease with the Department of Education and Training for unused land and buildings at the former Castlemaine Secondary College Etty Street campus.
Council then intends to enter into separate subleases with Workspace Australia Ltd and Castlemaine Hot Rod Centre Ltd. The permitted use of the land under the lease will be office space, educational and community activities. The rent will be $120 per year for each tenant. The sublease to Workspace Australia Ltd and Castlemaine Hot Rod Centre Ltd proposes to pass on all obligations from the head lease to Workspace Australia Ltd and Castlemaine Hot Rod Centre Ltd.
Council is seeking written comment on the proposal to lease these premises. Submissions should indicate whether the person or a person acting on their behalf wishes to be heard before Council at the Ordinary Meeting of Council in August.
Submissions will be considered in accordance with Section 223 of the Local Government Act 1989.
