The Mount Alexander Business Awards are on again and time is running out to vote for your favourite businesses.

Businesses can also self-nominate across the nine award categories and sign up for a mentoring session to help guide their entry.

“The business awards aim to celebrate the achievements of local businesses and entrepreneurs,” said David Leathem, Manager Economy and Culture, Mount Alexander Shire.

“If you would like to recognise the value, innovation or entrepreneurial spirit of a local business, get your nominations in by Monday 9 September.”

Once a business is nominated, the next step is for the business to complete an entry form by Monday 7 October.

“This year we are introducing mentoring workshops to help businesses develop their business and marketing plans as part of the entry process,” said Mr Leathem.

The two mentoring sessions will be run by local businesswoman Kerry Anderson from KA Rural Enterprises in mid-September, and will provide businesses with the tools they need to complete their entry.

“Kerry Anderson is a highly-respected advocate for business with broad experience in the sector and an extensive knowledge and passion for rural communities,” said Mr Leathem.

“Local businesses will benefit from Ms Anderson’s previous experience in a number of regional business awards and her practical approach to strategic business planning and development.

The Mount Alexander Business Awards are run by Mount Alexander Shire Council in partnership with the Midland Express/Castlemaine Mail.

Council is pleased to announce Business Mount Alexander, Maldon Inc, Maldon & District Community Bank®, Workspace Australia and Good Earth Garden Supplies are supporting the awards.
