Services over Christmas

Our offices have closed for the holiday season and will reopen at 8.30am on Thursday 2 January. You can still get in touch if there is an emergency. For emergencies regarding roads and drains, maternal and child health or stock and animal control (excluding wildlife) call 5471 1700 and follow the prompts.

Holiday bin collection

Due to public holidays residents who normally have their bins collected on a Wednesday will have them collected on Saturday 28 December (instead of Christmas Day) and Saturday 4 January 2020 (instead of New Years Day). Report a missed bin collection via an online service request or call Veolia Environmental on (03) 5820 8500. Please note bin collections begin early mornings on days of Total Fire Ban.

Bike workshops for year sevens

Council is partnering with the Healthy Heart of Victoria to deliver three bike safety workshops for students heading to high school next year. The workshops aim to encourage students to ride to school, build confidence and learn road rules. Sessions will be held from 10.00am to 12.30pm on Tuesday 7, 14 and 21 January. Sign up now at www.trybooking.com/BHIEC. Cost is $10 which includes all three sessions.

Upcoming roadworks

Works will start in mid-January to upgrade three sections of the Bendigo – Sutton Grange Road. The works are expected to be completed by April, weather permitting. The sections of road for upgrade include Grays Road to the Council boundary, Ontario Lodge Lane to Faraday-Sutton Grange Road and south of the Jennings Hill Road intersection. The project is jointly funded through Regional Roads Victoria’s Fixing Country Roads Program and the Federal Roads to Recovery Program.
