Free twilight tour of Botanical Gardens

Group of walkers touring the Castlemaine Botanical Gardens.

Thursday 30 January 2020

A free guided twilight tour of the historic Castlemaine Botanical Gardens will be held on Thursday 6 February and everyone is invited to come along.

Botanical Gardens Horticulturalist Gillian Miller will lead the tour and discuss significant plantings, the impressive native and exotic tree collection, Lake Johanna and the garden’s history.

The gentle hour-long stroll is organised by CHIRP Community Health as part of their regular monthly walks. It is supported by Mount Alexander Shire Council.

By hosting a twilight tour CHIRP Community Health aims to give families and people who are usually at work during the day the chance to come along and learn more about this beautiful part of Mount Alexander Shire.

“We’d love to see our regular participants and warmly welcome any new guests. It’s very inclusive and a nice reason to head outdoors and enjoy some fresh air,” said Deb McCarthy, Manager Allied Health and Wellbeing, CHIRP Community Health.

The walk is suitable for all ages and abilities.
