Register your pool

Did you know that you need to register your pool or spa with Council, following changes to state legislation last year? The Victorian Government introduced the changes to make sure pool fences comply with safety standards and provide a safety barrier to prevent children from drowning. Twenty seven young children have drowned in private swimming pools and spas since the year 2000. In at least 20 of those cases an unsafe pool fence was a contributing factor. Find out how to register at www.mountalexander.vic.gov.au/Building_Services or contact Julian Peck, Building Surveyor, on 5471 1759.
