Major roadworks completed

North Harcourt Road Reconstruction 2020

Wednesday 7 July 2020

Mount Alexander Shire Council has completed upgrades along two rural roads, with works recently finished on North Harcourt Road and Bendigo-Sutton Grange Road.

Three separate stretches of the Bendigo-Sutton Grange Road totalling approximately three and a half kilometres were reconstructed and widened to improve safety for road users.

The North Harcourt Road project began in early March with reconstruction of a one kilometre stretch of road between the northern Council boundary and Harcourt-Sutton Grange Road.

Along with an upgrade to the road pavement the team also removed some roadside hazards to further improve safety in partnership with Coliban Water.

The two road upgrades cost a total of $2.35 million. They were jointly funded by Council, the Regional Roads Victoria’s Fixing Country Roads Program and the Federal Roads to Recovery Program.
